Hello!

I'm Mrs Russell and I love teaching at Fleetville! I like travelling and having adventures, so far, I have visited 27 countries. I've been coasteering in the Outer Hebrides,  sandboarded in Australia, hunted for glow worms in caves in New Zealand and hung out with orangutangs in Borneo. As well as being a teacher, I am also a Guide leader. I love being outdoors and cooking on open fires.

Steve Backshall and his wife Helen Glover inspire me. Steve is an inspirational adventurer, explorer and naturalist. He is passionate about nature and the environment, and strives to educate people and so helping preserve their environment. His wife is an Olympic rower who has competed and won in many events including World and European championships. She had retired from rowing to become a mother but, when the Tokyo Olympics was postponed, she started training and has now been selected to row for team GB in the pairs. She is the only mother to have ever represented team RB in rowing. She has drive, determination and ambition.

Kindness is doing small gestures that make a difference to someone else such as holding a door open, donating unwanted items or giving someone a compliment. Spreading and showing kindness is easy, effortless and should be done every day!

The accomplishment I am most proud of is completing the Blenheim triathlon. I only leant to swim as an adult and I had to swim in open water which I found quite scary. I’m not a natural athlete but when I crossed the finish line, I felt like I had won!
