Mrs Khan - SENCO
Hello, I'm Mrs Khan and I'm very excited to join FJS as SENCo. I have been working at the Infant School as a teacher and SENCo for the last year and a half, before which, I was teaching at another school in St Albans. My teaching career began in Bedfordshire almost 20 years ago, and I have taught overseas in Dubai where I lived with my family for 9 years, before moving into Hertfordshire.
I enjoy spending time outdoors (when it's warm!), travelling, reading and practicing yoga. I have two gorgeous cats and four gorgeous children, and love being 'mum'.
There are many people who have inspired me to always strive to be the best version of myself. One particular person, is Malala Yousafzai. She is an education advocate, demanding that all children, specifically girls, have the right to receive education. She is also the youngest person to have received the Nobel Peace Prize and has become an international symbol of the fight for girls' education. I find her tenacity and courage at such a young age, inspirational.
For me, kindness is fundamental in all relationships and is core to who we are and who we are becoming. Being tender, compassionate, understanding, courteous, helpful and forgiving, is essential for growth and begins with ourselves. Kindness is looking for the good in ourselves and each other.
I have many accomplishments I am proud of, but my greatest accomplishment, without a doubt, is my children. I am truly honoured to be their mum, and am immensely proud to watch them grow, flourish and achieve in life, as their biggest fan!
