Debate Club

Debate club gives the children the opportunity to develop their listening and reasoning skills. Each week they are given a series of topics to discuss, explore and debate. They are challenged to support their opinions with valid evidence and argue the points made by others.

The Debate Club have had a lively half term and have explored a range of topics.  Inspired by PM Rishi Sunak’s motion that ‘all children should study maths until the age of 18’ our students had plenty to say for and against this proposal! And proving that literally anything can be put up for debate, we have discussed Cats v Dogs and Pens v Pencils. We are looking forward to next term when the house shall be opening with the proposition that ‘all teachers should wear a uniform’.
