Reading Ambassadors

When a applying for the role of a Reading Ambassador, children were asked to explain why they wanted the role. The children were very passionate about supporting other children to develop a love of reading and helping them develop their reading fluency and comprehension.

After receiving their training from last year's Reading Ambassadors, the children will carry out weekly reading sessions with the children in Year 3 and Year 4. They will also help building Reading Crates which can be taken out onto the playground at lunchtime for those children who want to read.

Book Week 2023

Our Reading Ambassadors planned and organised World Book Day this year. They had several meetings where they, as a group, decided on what activities they thought children would enjoy. They then planned what resources they would need to deliver the activities and how they would reward those children that took part.

The children were then given a budget which they used to purchase all resources and prizes. The children worked collaboratively to allocate the money to different elements of the day and ensure that they had enough money to purchase everything they needed.

For all of their hard work, the Reading Ambassadors and Subject Specialists were awarded a Be Accomplished badge.
