Ms Whitehouse - Headteacher
Ms Whitehouse
Hello, my name is Ms Whitehouse and I have been the headteacher at Fleetville Junior School for just over a year. I joined in January 2021 as the Deputy Headteacher and was lucky enough to be appointed as the headteacher in September 2023.
I have been working in education for 17 years and am passionate about helping children develop a love of learning and have wider life experiences. I would like Fleetville to become a school for the community and help our pupils become citizens that help shape the world.
When I am not at school, I love spending time with my family. I have a son called Dougie who is just about to go into Year 6. As a family, we love listening to music, watching movies (especially anything Marvel) and taking our family dog, Paul, for walks.
There are many people in the world that inspire me. They inspire me to be better and do better to ensure that the next generation have a world that they can be proud of.
My first inspiration was my mum. She taught me what it means to put others needs in front of your own and be selfless. She worked hard to make sure I had what I needed and pushed me to try new things and step out of my comfort zone.
I feel very lucky to have her as a role model.
Kindness is something that can come in all different forms. It can be seen in big gestures that take time to plan but it can also be small acts which bring a smile to someone's face.
To me kindness is something that we all deserve to receive and should be something that we are all be prepared to show.
"In a world where you can be anything, be kind."
There are many things that I am proud of achieving, but my greatest achievement is my son, Dougie. Becoming a mother helped me have have a greater understanding of the important things in life.
