Pig heart boy
Cameron, at the age of thirteen, yearns for a typical life filled with friends, swimming, school, and family.
However, his reality is anything but ordinary. Not every thirteen-year-old faces the urgent need for a new heart due to a malfunctioning one.
At last, a doctor presents a glimmer of hope. If Cameron and his parents consent, he could undergo a groundbreaking and controversial procedure that involves transplanting a pig's heart into his body.
This approach carries significant risks and has never been attempted before.
As Cameron grapples with this possibility, he discovers that the society around him is far less accepting of such an idea.
Yet, one would think that everyone would agree that having a functioning pig's heart is preferable to a non-functioning human heart—wouldn't they?
