R.E Progression Map

We follow the Hertfordshire Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education (2023-28), which provides statutory guidance and a framework of eight Key Areas of Learning. These key areas ensure pupils gain knowledge and understanding of religions and worldviews, while also developing personal and critical thinking.

At Fleetville, we use this syllabus as the backbone of our RE curriculum. On our subject information page, you’ll find details of which religions and worldviews we study, what enquiry questions pupils explore, and how these link with our local and global community. Lessons are designed so pupils reflect on beliefs and practices, sources of wisdom, symbols and actions, identity and belonging, prayer/worship/reflection, ultimate questions, human responsibility and justice and fairness.

Below, you’ll find the Hertfordshire syllabus.
