We follow the Charanga Music scheme as the foundation of our curriculum. From this framework, we have created our own bespoke sequence of units that give children the opportunity to experience a wide range of styles and genres, play instruments, use studio technology, and explore the creative processes of improvisation and composition.

This hybrid approach ensures that music is both progressive in developing technical skills and meaningful in context, with some units linked carefully to wider foundation topics and core texts. Across the school, pupils build their musical knowledge, perform with confidence, and develop an appreciation of how music reflects diverse cultures and influences the world around us.
