SATs Resource Hub
Each May, children in Year 6 complete the statutory Key Stage 2 assessments (SATs). These assess learning from across Key Stage 2, so while much of the content will have been taught in Year 6, children will also draw on knowledge and skills developed throughout Years 3, 4 and 5.
Children complete assessments in reading, grammar, punctuation and spelling and maths. Each year, we hold a presentation for Year 6 families to explain the assessments, how we prepare children in school and what SATs week will look like.
There is no expectation that children complete additional SATs work at home. However, we know that some families ask us for resources they can use to provide a little extra practice or revisit areas in which their child feels less confident. We have therefore brought together a selection of optional resources on this page. Children do not need to bring any completed work into school.
The resources below are organised according to the different areas assessed and include complete practice papers, shorter activities focusing on particular topics and some additional challenge materials for children who would like to stretch themselves further.
Children can also access our online learning platforms from home using their usual school logins. Spelling Shed provides practice with the statutory spelling words alongside grammar and punctuation activities, while White Rose Maths Infinity provides practice questions linked to the mathematics taught across KS2.
The most important thing is that any additional practice remains manageable and positive. These resources are here for families who might find them helpful.
