Assemblies and Collective Worship

Daily assemblies bring our children together to share ideas, mark achievements, and learn about the world around them. We explore practical life skills, moral themes, and shared values, while recognising and respecting the different faiths, cultures, and belief systems held by families across our school.

What We Focus On in Assemblies

Our assembly timetable is planned across the year to cover a wide range of topics that support both children’s wellbeing and their learning in class:

Inclusion and Values

We teach children what inclusion looks like in everyday life. We cover practical concepts like equity versus equality, understanding physical adaptations, and being aware of invisible needs - helping pupils build genuine kindness and respect for others.

Executive Functioning and Learning Strategies

We explicitly teach pupils practical strategies to help them learn and manage their day. Assemblies cover key executive functioning skills, such as using visualisations to help working memory, building self-regulation, and handling changes to routines smoothly.

Collective Singing

Music is a big part of our school week. Regular singing assemblies give children the chance to sing together, build confidence, and enjoy being part of a shared whole-school activity.

Calendar Events & World Festivals

Our school community includes many different backgrounds and traditions. Throughout the year, we mark key national and international awareness days alongside major religious and cultural festivals. These sessions focus on universal values like compassion and generosity, and we regularly welcome guest speakers to share their experiences with the children.
