On-Trust Roles
What is On-Trust?
On-Trust is an opportunity for our Year 6 pupils to become leaders within the school. They take on additional responsibilities to better prepare them for the additional responsibilities that come with moving onto secondary school. These roles update each term so every child has the opportunity to be On-Trust.
Here is a brief description of some of the main roles available:
Library Assistants
Our brilliant Library Assistants have been working very hard to tidy the library. They’ve reorganised the recommended reads section and made sure everything is neat and easy for the children to use.
Animal Assistant
Our wonderful animal assistants take responsibility for all of our animals. They organise feeding, walking and clearing out cages so that they all have a cosy place to sleep.
Sports Assistants
Our Sports Assistants play an important role in helping to promote sport and physical activity across FJS. They support events, encourage others to take part, and help make sure equipment is ready and well looked after.
Gardeners
Our Year 6 Trust Gardeners do a wonderful job looking after the plants both inside the school and around the school grounds. They help keep everything watered, tidy, and thriving so that our learning environment stays bright and welcoming for everyone.
Admin Assistants
Our Trust Admin Assistants support the school office by helping with deliveries and a variety of simple administrative tasks. They also help to check the lost property each day for any named items and return them to the children’s classrooms.
Corridor Monitors
This involves the largest group of children. The job is to ensure that the younger children are coming back into school in an appropriate manner: safe, quiet and respectful. The corridor monitors will remind children of the expectations and will feedback to teachers on individuals and classes who have surpassed expectations.
Lunchtime DJs
This tends to be a popular choice! For a short period of lunch time, we turn on our playground speakers and play music. The Y6 DJs have the job of selecting which tracks to play using a huge list of options already available on our school music playlist. The DJs are responsible for keeping the volume at an appropriate level and ensuring that the equipment is well looked after.
