FJS update - 2nd July

Good afternoon friends,

I hope you are all safe and well.

DFE today have released advice on returning to school after the summer holidays. Our job is to now go through this advice, collate further advice from Herts CC, Unions, Academy teams, Spiral and Primary Heads Forum (PHF) amongst others and put a plan to our staff and community that enables us to open in September to all our pupils in the safest possible way. As you can imagine this may take some time. We will endeavour to let you know our draft arrangements prior to the end of term and confirm these with you late August as previously advised.

In school life has now become a regular routine and we are enjoying our time together. Class bubbles and Forest school is working well and I trust your children are enjoying their time back together. We have some plans for end of term and look forward to sharing them with you over the coming week.

I am hoping we can have our ‘Uniform Day’ tomorrow and that you have managed to dig out some old uniform that could still fit! It may be a great opportunity to put some great condition old uniform on our Fleetville Schools Costume and Uniform Swap Shop;

You should have received two documents;

Firstly our @home/@school Sports Day information. We start today and have planned for next Thursday to be our ‘Sports Day’ but you are welcome to do your events before then.

Secondly we have the first Sustainable St Albans #learningfromlockdown poster giving us the opportunity to share the permanent changes we have made to our lifestyle during lockdown that will benefit us all going forwards.

Assembly tomorrow will be at the usual time and based in school but if you would like me to visit your area please let me know for next week. Ideally I’d like clusters of families…

Many thanks, stay safe and well
