FJS Update - 25th March, 1pm

Good afternoon Friends,

I hope this finds you safe and well today.

We’ve been sent a warning email from HCC aroundscam email that is being sent to parents, asking them for bank details if they have children who qualify for Free School Meals. Please remember not give out private information (such as bank details or passwords), reply to text messages, download attachments or click on any links in emails if you’re not sure they’re genuine.  (Ironically) Please see this government link for further helpful information:

We would love to join in with our infants today in providing a small challenge J

“As we are approaching the Easter break, we would usually hold a decorate an egg competition. But just because we are not at school, I don’t think that should stop us! I think we could all do with a bit of fun.

We understand that food shouldn’t be wasted, even more so in these challenging times, so please try to empty the egg, so you can still eat the contents! If you haven’t got an egg, then feel free to get creative and use a potato, scrunched up recycled paper etc. We welcome all imaginative entries!”

If you would like to participate please take a photo of your entry and email it to before next Thursday 2nd April so we can get out hens to help with the judging. As Mrs Gardner would say, “an eggcellent idea!”

Our Bedtime stories are still happening and can be found at our very own Youtube channel J. Your support is most welcome.

As well as our own stories Amazon have cancelled the subscription of books and audio stories for children and students of all ages as long as schools are closed, kids can instantly stream a large collection of stories.

All stories are free to stream using the following link

I appreciate that, like us, you are probably inundated with these types of ‘freebies’ so we limit the amount we share but we felt this would be a lovely way into a new book (and maybe offer a bit of respite).

Our road in Fleetville has set up a fantastic WhatsApp group so we can communicate with our neighbours and make sure we are all safe all well stocked. Just another idea and a wonderful way of celebrating community.

Many thanks, stay safe and well.
