FJS update - 16th July

Good afternoon friends,

I hope you are enjoying the last week of term. It is quite emotional here but we are working through it and our children are enjoying their last few days with us this academic year.

I have been inundated with email and I apologise if I haven’t got back to you all individually yet, I am working next week so you will all receive a reply by next Friday at the latest.

Today is ‘Reading Together Day’ so if I can get my laptop to finally save a recording I will be adding a bedtime story on YouTube! If not please join in in whatever way works for you.

Thank you for the astonishingly positive feedback about our Fleetville’s Got Talent video yesterday, it was superb and the votes have been pouring in- results tomorrow!

A note from FACES;

“Dear Parents/Carers

We still have a few places left for Holiday Club running from 9-5.30 Monday to Friday during the school holidays.

You can only book for complete weeks as this is the safest way of keeping children in the same bubble. Siblings will be in that group.

We will be holding the Holiday Club at the Junior school this year as this gives us more access to greenspace, the hub and Forest Schools. In normal years we have external contributors but as you can appreciate this cannot happen so we have a timetable which will incorporate, arts, crafts, sport, forest schools and even cooking.  The hub allows us to show films as well.

To ensure that your child is safe  you will be in a bubble with children that are registered for that week and we will follow the guidance and protocols from the School and the Out of School Care from the Government. At all times the safety of staff and children is paramount.

Please could you book as soon as possible as we need to finalise staff numbers

Thank you for your patience while we sorted this out, we only had notice that we could run clubs 3 weeks ago but we really feel it is important that your children can come and have some fun time and socialise with their friends”

Finally today, please find attached a letter from our Chair of Governors on behalf of our Local School Committee.

Many thanks, stay safe and well.
