FJS update - 11th June

Good afternoon all,

Happy Thursday,

Thank you so much for your videos and clips for our assembly tomorrow, it promises to be another lovely video sequence J. Please join us from 1.15pm for a 1.30pm start.

Parenting for Lifelong Health has developed online parenting resources during COVID-19. It includes information on topics like keeping calm and managing stress, talking about Covid-19, learning through play etc.  This might be particularly helpful for our families where English may be your second language.  Please see the link below.

We are still awaiting further guidance from the government about possible reopening and I appreciate this uncertainty creates its own tensions and stress, especially with our families who are still at home.

With almost our entire staff working full time at school to support our children who are back I appreciate this has had a knock on effect to the quantity and quality of our Seesaw offer, sadly this cannot be helped.

We keep our offer under constant review and look to improve where we can but ‘live’ lessons are not an avenue we are currently pursuing.

I am fortunate to be non-bubble based so have some time to work with Zoom and create a link between home and school, the same cannot be expected of staff who are already working 8am - 5pm days and have families of their own.

We appreciate this is not ideal and we have not forgotten about the majority of our families still at home. We hope the further guidance we receive will help but inevitably it will leave some families further disappointed as we can only take back half of our children given the current restrictions.

Have a lovely evening, stay safe and well.
