We have an Eco Team made up of 12 members - one representative from each class. Pupils can offer themselves for nomination each year.
We have various responsibilities in school. The Eco members attend regular meetings to discuss any ideas they have to improve the sustainability of the school.
Each year we spend a week promoting one aspect of sustainability. For example, in the past we have highlighted the issues of food waste and we are currently involved in the River Ver project. We take time to litter pick around the school and in the community, whilst also working on our allotments. During the winter we make bird food and take part in the School Birdwatch.
The Eco Team took school assembly at the beginning of Fairtrade Fortnight and reminded the school about the importance of making sure companies pay a fairer price for what farmers grow plus a little extra for them to invest in their communities or farms. Through Fairtrade, farmers and workers can make enough money to feed and look after their families, protect their environment and carry on growing the food we love.
