The Personal Social Health Education curriculum builds on the work children will have done in Key Stage 1.
The Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL) programme provides opportunities for children to explore strategies for problem solving and gives them the vocabulary needed to discuss their feelings. We adopt a whole school approach which enables the school community to work towards a shared vision.
Each half term has a different theme which is introduced by a whole school assembly.

Small groups and individuals needing further support in this area, work with our Learning Mentor.
Children in Year 5 and 6 take part in our drugs and sex education programme. The content of the material used is shared with parents so that they are able to complement learning in this area.
To develop knowledge and understanding of Citizenship, children take part in regular discussion about 'the news'. The school council leads various events which enable learning about the local, national and global community. |
