Home & School Links
The link between home and school is of the utmost importance for the success ofBasketball Club a child's education. Teachers need to know their pupils well if they are to use their professional skill in helping them to learn. To know the pupils, they need to know the parents. We aim to keep you in the picture by sending home weekly newsletters with the children and if you have any problems or would just like to visit us you are welcome to do so at any time. However, if you wish to see the class teacher please arrange a mutually convenient time either before or after school. Please make appointments to see the Headteacher and Deputy Head with the Office Manager. During the year we provide many 'formal' opportunities for you to visit the school: consultations, sports days, assemblies, plays, concerts, exhibitions and events arranged by the PTA. All parents and pupils are asked to sign our Home-School Agreement. Children are regularly set work to continue or complete at home and we ask you to support them with these tasks. Educational research points out the invaluable contribution that parents make to the life of a school and the need to make education a genuine partnership between school and home. On the one hand, we hope that you will never hesitate to ask for our help where the progress, happiness or health of your child is concerned. Equally, there are many practical ways in which parents with a little time to offer can help us to increase and improve the range of educational provision made by the school. However, there is one form of support for which we ask particularly. This is your own clear demonstration to your child that you value the work done in school and that you believe in what the school is providing for, and demanding of, your child.
