Left Fleetville in 1978. Now at Bristol University studying English. I remember the football matches at Fleetville. Message for current pupils: Make the most of your time - it is worth it.

I would say to all youngsters starting or in mid school time
that their future life depends on how hard they try at school. Character
and personality develop in school years and there' s very little chance of
a second opportunity. There is no substitute for knowledge however
unnecessary it may seem, neither is there a substitute for experience, so
listen to what is said to you. You never know when it will serve you. Some
say "A little knowledge is dangerous". It's a lot better than none al all. I am
now 70 and I look back at my school years as being a mixture of the happiest
days of my life and the most informative, sometime routine and dull. Be sure
of this - EDUCATION IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART IN ANY YOUNG LIFE.
